Chordata
Chordates are animals with backbones, but especially a notochord. Animal groups in the chordate phylum include fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals. A chordate takes in food through the mouth. The chordate has a mouth with a tongue. Some have teeth and some do not. It has a digestive system with stomach, intestines. Chordates eat plants and animals.
Echinoderms are one branch of the deuterostome line of animal evolution, the branch that Chordates also belong to. The major differences between chordates and echinoderms are the lack of internal skeletons in echinoderms and their radial body structure.Chordates are characterized by several features: a notochord; a dorsal neural tube, pharyngeal slits; post-anal tail. Echinoderms are characterized by bilateral symmatry, mesodermal skeleton, and water vascular system.
