Digestive system
* Sea Squirts feed on plankton and nutrients in the water along the algae that grows on them. They have two stomachs to contribute to digestion. The pharynx forms the first part of the digestive system. Next, the endostyle makes up a vas supply of mucus which is carried on to the entire pharynx by flagella along its structural margins. After that, the mucus goes in a sheet across the surface of the pharynx, trapping planktonic food particles as they travel across the stigmata, and is collected in the ridge on the dorsal surface. The food is next passed down to the oesophageal opening at the bottom of the pharynx. The oesophagus goes into the stomach which contains enzymes that break down food particles. A intestine then runs to the anus where the food is removed from the structure.
